Hi all: FYI thanks to some awesome bootstrapping work by Ryan Clark, we were able to implement a Jekyll/Markdown based website. More detailed notes/progress are at https://github.com/geopython/pycsw/issues/180. Summary:
- based on:
- Jekyll (static site generator)
- Markdown (content markup)
- Twitter Bootstrap (look and feel/CSS)
- live deployments based on GitHub GeoJSON rendering
All content is ported at this point, and the website now sits in a branch at https://github.com/geopython/pycsw/tree/website.
You can preview the website by following the instructions at https://github.com/geopython/pycsw/blob/website/README.md (pretty easy, takes a minute or two to setup). I'll setup a staging instance tomorrow and send out a URL as well.
It would be great to have comments, suggestions, ideas, etc. of what's there so far, be it content, UI, etc.
Target date of release is during week of FOSS4G 2013.
Thanks!
..Tom
