Hi Travis: no apology necessary :)

HHypermap would be a good choice (although, as you mention, it does more
than harvesting and likely needs some updating).  You could also implement
metadata
parsers into pycsw proper (we don't support ESRI geohub or CKAN harvest,
but contributions
are welcome) and implement harvesters to leverage the CSW transactional
workflow or
using pycsw as a library from your own Python application.
