Sounds really interesting, the syntax looks quite understandable. But there is one problem, it’s only allowed to pass XML Documents through the process chain. One process can produce any kind of output, but this output is not allowed to be passed at the input and output ports.

I think the possible in- and outputs which also can be passed directly through the process should be complexValue, LiteralValue and BoundingBoxValue as allowed in PyWPS Processes.

Cheers

Anna

That's sounds interesting especially for the process chaining GSoC.

Please, Anna, take a look at it. We should check how this standard can be used for the WPS specification.

Cheers,

Jonas

Many people have been interested in a standard way to chain WPS processes.
It seems to me that it would be useful to adopt the same approach as the general XML processing community.
There is a call for charter review at W3C for such a standard, which is defining XProc 2.0.
I hope this is of interest to WPS leaders.

> XProc is a simple dataflow language used to combine sequences of steps into tasks, primarily involving XML documents. In this regard it's a little like Make or ant or a Unix shell, but at a higher level and with clearer focus.
