Hi,

sorry, I am just very busy at the moment with other things. I will add you

Hi Bogus, David, Martijn and Ves,

I just started to grant svn access for you. Please try to checkout the
manual with your osgeo ids - see below.

more instructions on how to work on the english qgis manual in trunk

a) Please read the wiki page. It includes a lot of hints:
http://www.qgis.org/wiki/Manual_Writing

b) General information about working with latex and subversion
http://www.qgis.org/wiki/Working_with_Subversion_and_Latex

Unfortunately, not all information is uptodate in the wiki page at the
moment. I will update it as soon as possible. So please ask, if you have
problems on the list and I will help.

how to download the current trunk:

You should be able to download the documentation trunk ('master'-document)
as a named user with your osgeo id. For a clean checkout you need a
svn-client.

# Checkout as a named user
svn co --username <your username here>
https://svn.osgeo.org/qgis/docs/trunk/english_us/

# Building

To build the user_guide as a PDF-doc, change into the folder user_guide and
do the following:

change into trunk/english_us/user_guide and type

pdflatex user_guide.tex

if it doesn't compile properly with a PDF as output, please write to the
list, because we just migrated from texlive to pdflatex and might be some
errors left.

Regards,
Otto

Nikos:
Are you asking about compiling QGIS itself or compiling the manual
(pdflatex)?
