Ok, thanks for the input, but in the first docs website people added a
lot of links to the page, just to be able to go immediately to: case
studies, sponsorship, bugs, commercial support etc etc. That is the
reason I ended up with so much links
Anyway. It is fine for me to remove most of these items from the frontpage.

I will only leave:

- the little intro text (please provide better text, or better fix it in
github)

and three 'blocks':
- screenshots (please provide a second flickr account, WITH current
screenshots for this)
- download and install (pointing to:
http://docs.qgis.org/2.0/html/en/website/download.html#qgis-download)
- documentation (pointing to
http://docs.qgis.org/2.0/html/en/docs/index.html)

It is fine for me to remove the 'black bar' == bootstrap menu, but then
we must add the entrances for community and development somewhere else,
eg in two other blocks.

Flags discussion. uh, I like flags ;-) First thing I think is to add
some cookie to the table, so that the Germans do not have to click the
flag every time they visit the site.
After that is is easy to make it a dropdown (though I like flags...)
I will have a look into the cookies, and make room for people who want
to make it a dropdown ;-)

And please please please people, try to build the docs also, and
understand the workflow. So it is not just a select group being able to
make changes to layout or content.

Richard Duivenvoorde

ps my idea is to do this (with a small version of the site) on the
qgis.org server. Then it is easier to discuss, or even better: maybe do
a hangout so we can 'live' make edits and view the results
