Yes I thought it was already removed too:

https://github.com/qgis/QGIS-Documentation/tree/master/source/docs

Anyway, the idea was that all that would stay relatively unchanged moved 
to the website. While docs which would change for every QGIS-version 
should be in QGIS-Documentation.
