FYI,
I've removed the sphinx-bootstrap-theme from all our sphinx builds
(website and docs).
While the theme makes it pretty easy to add bootstrap into your sphinx
build, already from the beginning we moved away from their design.
In the en we had the feeling that our sites did not have any profit from
that themes, but it would be better to just add the bootstrap stuff
ourselves in the theme used.
So we just did. And I think it is working: http://qgis.org
What did we win:
- minimizing dependencies
- we had some problems with different versions of jquery being pulled in
(both by bootstrap itself, and two versions by the theme)
- we had some include order problems where we hacked around
If you see something funny, please do a proper page load again (ctrl-F5
or so), still seeing something funny, please tell us, or create an issue
(in the QGIS-Website project).

ps willing to help?: currently we can only build on linux (make/bash is
not working properly on windows/osgeo4w). If we could pythonize this
(paver?) that would be great. And hopefully make it easier for others to
build and contribute
