Dear community,
Our Python Cookbook [1] doesn’t have a license and this can be confusing
for users.
After discussing and analysing the existing licenses at today's PSC, we
agreed to put the Cookbook under the GNU Free Documentation License.

This license is already used for the User guide [4] and the Gentle
Introduction to GIS [3].

Even Though the cookbook has a lot of code, we decided to license it under
a documentation license and not a software license, since the code is
mostly for documentation purposes and are considered "trivial code":
“If your document contains non-trivial examples of program code, we
recommend releasing these examples in parallel under your choice of free
software license, such as the GNU General Public License, to permit their
use in free software.“

If you have any question or issue with the above license being added to the
Python Cookbook, please let us know before August 3rd 17:00 (CET) so we can
discuss the issue at the next PSC.

If no issues arise, wel add the license after the next PSC meeting.

Cheers

Marco
