[Qgis-community-team] Strange dialog box when starting QGIS

Hi!
Since a short while, I get an dialog box asking for "Specify CRS for layer
constructionGuides" before QGIS launches. This is Windows 10, QGIS 3.40.2
revision 14826ca1.
I have created no such layer.
I have tried creating a new default project, changing the startup screen
and project handling but the problem persists.
The name of the layer suggests that it has been created by some
system process or plugin.
I would be very grateful for any hints on how to find this ghost layer and
get rid of it.
