[Qgis-developer] compiling v0.8.0 preview from source

I would like to try compiling qgis v0.8.0 preview 1 from source.
However, I find that it is distributed without a configure script.
When I try to generate one with autoconf, it fails with various m4
macro errors.

Could you please redistribute the source with an appropriate configure
script, send one to me privately, or explain how I can generate it
myself.
