I have never used CMake before.
I installed it and got the compilation going in less than 1 hour,
including configuration.
After a couple of more hours I manage to add autodetect of postgres and
gdal with the help of *-config binaries.
I never understood the old auto-stuff.
Of course, this was on Kunbuntu Edgy, which is probably much easier than
Mac or Windows.
I'm all for merging, as I like the work being done on projections/SRS.
