[Qgis-developer] std output in windows?

Hi list,
starting qgis from the commandline in windows XP closes the command, 
without further showing any (qgis) output tot standard output.
Starting it on linux, you can do python printouts and see them in your 
commandbox. This is very usefull developing python plugins.
Question: is there a special windows option available to see this 
(debug) output also?
Or is it possible to pack qgis in a way it's possible to see this using 
some startup option (or maybe it's already available?)?
