[Qgis-developer] QGIS built with debug sometimes freezes at startup

I have been noticing this for couple of months now, on two amd64
machines (Ubuntu Gutsy and Debian testing). Has anybody experienced a
similar thing? What could be the culprit?

It happens once every 10 or 20 QGIS startups. There is no particular
info on the terminal when the freeze takes place. Sometimes if I leave
QGIS alone in such case for a few seconds, it finally starts. Yet
sometimes after waiting a minute I have to kill it. Then, pressing
CTRL-c does not always suffice and sometimes I have to kill -9 the qgis
process. QGIS built without debug never suffered from this issue.

Thoughts?
