Oh, you're right! I was referring to the PostGIS buffer (AKA PostgreSQL
Geoprocessing). *That* I think nobody will miss.
Anyway, I suspect a python frontend to shp2pgsql wouldn't be a difficult
thing to do, and the end result could be more robust than the present
SPIT, who occasionally crashes.
