[Qgis-developer] SoC: header and license

Hello all,

in the page 
http://wiki.osgeo.org/wiki/2008_Google_SoC_Application
I see no particular rules for the header of the files I'm writing for
SoC. 
Can I choose GPL as license?
What other information has to be present?
