Some further info:
the crash happens with a custom projection (modified gauss-boaga, thanks

QGIS SRSID: 100000
PostGIS SRID: 0
+proj=tmerc +lat_0=0 +lon_0=9 +k=0.999600 +x_0=1500000 +y_0=0 ellps=intl 
++units=m +towgs84=-104.1,-49.1,-9.9,0.971,-2.917,0.714,-11.68

qgis does not appear to recognize it, try to use the default projection
(wgs84 in most cases, the same gauss-boaga): if it finds wgs84 it opens the
vector (with a wrong projection), if it finds G-B modified it crashes.
Anyone has a clear view on what's happening? Remember, the same data &
projections do not cause qgis to crash on win.
