I think I have the same problem under Ubuntu: neither the Plugin Manager list 
nor the Grass tools list doesn't work. The checkboxes are dead and painting 
of the list is unreliable. If I remember rightly, the yesterday's version 
worked fine. The Grass tools tree also works fine, of course.
