In Windows XP with the OSGeo4W QGis 1.1 version, I get a message box:

   Access violation - no RTTI data!

QGis crashes if I want to check/uncheck the file group item.

Pta: I did resolve my question and I'm able to avoid the legend file group
items in my app.
