+1 from me.

My idea would be the ability to assign a ui file to each vector layer.

This could be created using designer (there are also designer classes that
could probably be integrated into QGIS).  The widgets on the form should be
named like the attributes and have a type corresponding to the edit type.  That
form can then be loaded instead of the attribute dialog, but be initialized the
same.

We also discussed table joins, which would also fit in there (e.g. load foreign
keys from a table instead of a value map).
