Hm, http://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/qgis-user/2010-April/008449.html suggest
that this problem already existed in 1.4.   I don't know if anyone tried to
build QGIS with MinGW.   The "official" builds are done with MSVC, which
apparently doesn't have that problem.
