[Qgis-developer] qgis.g.browser - separate process?

I'm guessing qgis.g.browser runs as a separate process from Qgis?  I need to figure out how to setup the relative link paths to the Qt frameworks in the Mac build.

What can I do in the GRASS plugin to see qgis.g.browser in action?
