Hi Marco,
I tested with qt-4.7 preview code. The patch had not been applied, so I patched it, compiled, etc. Unfortunately, the symbol scaling problem was not resolved. Additionally, svg symbols in the legend were being misplaced when I printed a vector pdf file.
Using the untouched 4.7 preview code, the offset problem with the legend icons was fixed. The oversized dot pattern fill was still present.
So this does not appear to be the solution to the problem with polygon pattern fill issues.
