it really passes trough compiling code. If you are not comfortable I can
manage you qgis packages with the plugin included. Which flavour of
Ubuntu are you using? karmic or lucid?

Considered that is a really cool tool it would be better to have the
plugin added upstream... the possibility has been considered by the devs
(both of the plugin and qgis)?

I noticed that the dll version of the plugin for windows has problems
(qgis crashes when activating the plugin in the manager), there is a fix
on sight?
