[Qgis-developer] easier translation

Hi all.
During an interesting discussion at dinner time, Giuseppe had a nice 
idea to make translations easier: why not writing a plugin for this?
Trying to elaborate on this: we would need a tool that
- check current language and version used
- prepare a document (which format?) with current translation for 
current language and version, plus the diffs between the corresponding 
english versions
- let the user translate the diffs, and send back the translation (to a 
common sandbox, waiting for approval?).
Does not look too complicated: any thoughts?
