Hi,

you should not need to compile pyqt yourself, but download a binary
(already compiled) from:
.. doing some googling ...
http://www.riverbankcomputing.co.uk/software/pyqt/download
en take this one for your python 2.5:
http://www.riverbankcomputing.co.uk/static/Downloads/PyQt4/PyQt-Py2.5-gpl-4.8.1-1.exe

if you need to build your own gui, you will also need Qt dev tools:
