[Qgis-developer] Problems Displaying GeoTIFFs in QGIS 1.7.0

Today I was trying to view some .5m GeoTIFFs in QGIS 1.7.0 and noticed poor image quality, low contrasts, darker tones, lower resolution than I expected to find. I viewed the same images in QGIS version 1.5.0 and saw the high quality images that I expected to see. Is there a problem with version 1.7 that degrades image quality?
