[Qgis-developer] GIT Branches and Tags

Hi All

I am trying to finish off some admin tasks relating to GIT. In our
previous discussions here on the mailing list it was suggested to
streamline the number of tags and branches, This afternoon I wrote
some scripts to create branches for some of the earliest releases
which were marked as tags rather than branches. I then remove all
other tags so that tags will now only contain checkpoints in oud
development - typically the points at which we issue Call For
Packaging requests. The other proposal (I think from Martin) was to
remove all the other non release branches. Currently the branch list
on the master QGIS repo looks like this:

  qgis-master/browser-and-customization
  qgis-master/dev-advanced-editing
  qgis-master/dev-advanced-printing
  qgis-master/dev-advanced-printing2

  qgis-master/release-1_5_0
  qgis-master/release-1_6_0
  qgis-master/release-1_7_0

As you can see I have all the releases nice and consistently named. I
can go ahead and remove all other branches, I just wanted to double
check that that is ok for everyone. If I don't hear anything to the
contrary, I will go ahead and do so tomorrow so the final list will
look something like this:

  qgis-master/master
  qgis-master/release-0_0_11
  qgis-master/release-0_0_12
  qgis-master/release-0_0_13
  qgis-master/release-0_10_0

Regards

Tim
