[Qgis-developer] Map canvas flickers

If that one still crashes, I'm out of ideas.

The strange thing is, that the warnings you posted on pastebin still appear for you. I'm pretty sure they disappeared on my machine. I'm currently working on a windows system, so I'm unable to verify right now.

I did my test against second one. I am attaching my backported version to QGIS 1.8
