[Qgis-developer] $area in deg?

Hi all.
When calculating the area of polygons with the field calculator, the units are those
of the current projection. This is pointless in case of degrees (e.g. EPSG:4326). Of
course one can reproject the layer, but it would be good to be able to choose the
unit during calculations.
Opinions?
