[Qgis-developer] show grid on map canvas (similiar to grid used in composer) - strategy?

Hi Bob,

Output looks really nice but I see 2 issues:

1 - grass is optional, not part of qgis core
2 - made for PS output, may not fit nicely with the composer nor the map canvas

Perhaps there is a workaround for 2 ?
