[Qgis-developer] apply a cloned renderer to replicate styling

I see what's going wrong.
Setting the renderer affects the subsequent renderings. If I pan/zoom I see
the new renderer is being used, though the legend is'n updated. I think the
legend should be kept synchronized with the renderer, doesn't it?
