The build now only runs when it actually pulled updates.
 
Anyway, apparently the bots are indeed the problem (see [1]).  I blocked them
in robots.txt and now the load seems back to normal.  Maybe there is a better
option in redmine to do something like that - now nothing is indexed anymore...
