[Qgis-developer] Joining tables without geometries, version 1.7.1 vs. 1.8.0.1

Dear list

 

I try to relate the attached two lists (Measurement and Parameters) using
their primary and foreign keys (attributes PK and FK_*). The definition of
the columns are attached as well in the *.csvt files.

Using the table properties -> Joins I define the relation between the two
tables.

 

As soon as I click the OK on the property form of the table, QGIS 1.8.0.1
crashes. The crash is replicable by using *.xls files and PostGIS tables
(without geometries) as well.

 

I Checked the same dataset with the version 1.7.1 and it works without any
problems.

 

Well, it seems that between 1.7.1 and 1.8.0.1 something basic changed in the
table handling. Is someone aware of a workaround as a short term solution?
