[Qgis-developer] interpolated identification on a raster

Hi all,

Is there a straight way to achieve an interpolated identification on a 
raster?

Let's say I have a DEM, and I'd like to calculate an interpolated 
altitude at a given position.
The identify method returns the nearest neighbor (the pixel under the 
mouse pointer).

Or could you point me to a direction?
