[Qgis-developer] Virtual fields or auto-update trigger?

Hi,

Is someone working on "virtual fields" or auto-update triggers where a
field value would update after the feature was created, with a QGIS
expression?

Main use-case would be field widgets in forms where one wants to display
derived data.

This has been discussed several times, but it something in the works?
