I doubt it, if you look at

https://github.com/qgis/QGIS/compare/final-2_8_4...final-2_8_5

you'll find that there are only minimal changes in the packaging (as most of
3907acd was reverted in deb34b8) - but the rest of the changes don't look
suspicious either.

Maybe something related to reprojection or a changed dependency?  Unfortunatly
the ticket doesn't give enough information to reproduce the problem.
