Only strings were quoted - but not only in plain/text.  Before all values in
plain/text where quoted leading to 'NULL' for null values.

On second thought - that 'NULL' is actually the string representation of the
null value the quoting was ok.  I restored the old behaviour (and now numeric
values are also quoted again).
