[Qgis-developer] Expressions and case sensitiveness

Hi all,
I remember some discussion and work about making expressions case
insensitive. I do not know the situation about the filed names in
expression: IMHO the filtering on them should always be case
insensitive, as most users would expect. Is this implemented, or planned
to, or there are good reasons to avoid it?
