[Qgis-developer] Value map behaviour for data entry and display

Hi all,
the current behaviour of the widget id:
* user defines a table of Values and Descriptions for a field
* then a dropdown list of Descriptions is displayed during data entry
*and* table display
* the Value is actually entered into the table, but the user is unaware
of it.
This is inconsistent with the behaviour of other tools (e.g. checkboxes,
where the value is displayed), and more seriously makes it virtually
impossible to filter and select record based on that field, since the
user never knows the real value.
Our suggestion is to insert *and* display the real value, perhaps
showing the description as a tooltip onMouseOver.
