Dear QGIS developers,
Let me introduce myself as I am new to the list. I'm a planetary geologist
and GIS specialist from the Netherlands. I'm involved in a PhD project on
the one hand and I'm a freelancer on the other hand. For my PhD I mainly use
ArcGIS+python, for my freelance work QGIS+python. My website is
www.gispla.net/en/
After reading the post about LANDSAT8 by Frank Warmerdam (1) I made a simple
QGIS processing script (2) which generates a polygon shapefile with
footprints out of http://landsat-pds.s3.amazonaws.com/scene_list.gz. I'm
used to reading and writing shapefiles using OGR (3) and with this script I
learned to do the same using PyQGIS.
I would like to request for this script to be added to
https://github.com/qgis/QGIS-Processing. Any comments are welcome.
Kind regards,
Jelmer Oosthoek
