[Qgis-developer] SQL Update Query in DB Manager using pyqgis

I'm writing a Processing script in pyqgis to simplify my workflow. One part
of the tool needs to run a simple SQL query to update a value in a table in
a PostGIS database. I've looked through the source code but don't see a
straightforward way to do this. Does anyone have tips?
