[Qgis-developer] Plugin user proxy authentication

I have a QWebView, and this fails to pull in internet pages, citing proxy
authentication failure. I've tried adding:

QNetworkProxyFactory.setUseSystemConfiguration(True)

Doesn't seem to have made a difference. I'm a tad hamstrung because I don't
have this proxy setup myself, and hence am relying on user reports and
tests.

Can anyone help?
