[Qgis-developer] plugin metadata.txt icon directive

Hi all: MetaSearch's metadata.txt [1] icon points to a .png file which serves
as both an icon representation on plugins.qgis.org [2] and an icon for
MetaSearch itself in QGIS.

We are updating the MetaSearch icon [3] to an SVG file.  While this works for
QGIS proper does the plugin metadata.txt definition allow for an SVG file?  Or
just, say, PNG (the documentation in [4] is not clear).

Any idea (I'll update the developer cookbook with the clarification)?
