[Qgis-developer] Set plugin minimum QGIS version to LTR?

My plugin works with QGIS 2.4. Despite that, is it worth setting it to
minimum 2.8 to align with the idea of the LTR? If so, is this idea worth
extending to, for example, the default minimum version set in the plugin
builder?
