This Pull Request has been frozen due to the dedicated current feature<br>
freeze period. It will be merged after the feature freeze period is<br>
over, i.e. when new features are accepted back for inclusion.<br>
<br>
I think the last code state is ok to be merged. There are still very<br>
valuable design suggestions raised by Martin in the last comments, but I<br>
won't be able to take them into account soon. I prefer to take some<br>
extra time to fix bugs that should arise when this new feature will be<br>
merged.<br>
