A VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template) is a standardized document used to assess and report how well a product meets accessibility standards, such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) or Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act. It
provides transparency by detailing a product’s conformance to accessibility requirements, helping organizations understand if it can be used by individuals with disabilities. Government entities, including universities, often require VPATs as part of their
procurement process to ensure that the technology they purchase is accessible to all users, in compliance with accessibility laws like Section 508 in the U.S. or EN 301 549 in Europe.</div>
