Is there a way to preserve a read-only version of the information posted on
the forums?

I think we should have at least one announcement prior to the shut-down on
the user mailing list and a corresponding post on the forum for those who
don't follow the mailing list yet.

Pirmin identified the following necessary steps:

> -posting an info message to the forum

-make the forum read-only
>
-Update qgis.org pages to point to gis.stackexchange

-Optional: Changing the DNS entry for forum.qgis.org
