Hi all.
As agreed, I applied for support. Unfortunately, the reply was not too favourable.
I'm asking for your advice on how to best proceed.
All the best.

Hi Paolo,
well spotted. Now that you mention it I remember it well. It was a
really strenuous discussion over several weeks and we almost did not
get it done. I searched through the communication and the initial
thread starts here:

http://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/board/2012-April/009534.html

Internally the argument Markus used was that the GRASS mentors never
got paid any of the GSoC money OSGeo received form Google and
therefore it would make sense for OSGeo to support specific code
sprints. Maybe you can use a similar argumentation - but be prepared
for a lengthy discussion anyway. There are almost no sponsors left in
OSGeo and this year's FOSS4G also seems to pull a blank money wise so
the question really is where to spend the little there is - and where
to get new sponsors.

Ideally you specify your needs, what it is good for, add some
references and make it appear a little broader than just a regular
hack fest. I still cannot guarantee that it will work - even although
I am personally in for it.

Again - if you have any ideas, please help.

Cheers,
Arnulf
