Hi Gary,
I, too, would like to thank you for all you have done to make QGIS what it
is today. This includes all of your early stewardship with the OSGeo
community.
Both endeavors have have made it not only possible for QGIS to now be
considered a viable replacement for commercial offerings (even by large US
government agencies) but also created a community where developers can work
together to ensure users on many platforms will always have quality
geospatial tools. A job well done by any standard!
