[Qgis-psc] Clipart sharing platform

But should we not first have some global idea what we want? Aka some
functional requirements on which to base the technics?
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but while the clipart example is working
with single (non related) icons, don't we need *sets* of images: eg a
oil-related set, or a recreation related set, or even a full set? And
preferably a set which can be easily extended with a particular icon you
need from your workfield?
And sharing 'styles' is a pretty different kind of beast isn't it? I
could contain point symbol images, but could also be a full set of qml
file to style OSM or another free dataset.
I think a QGIS-user will not search for a 'oil-tower' icon, but will
wanting to search for a set 'oil-business'-related set of icons, all in
about the same color or style? Single svg icons from a certain size can
be searched via Google Image search?
Some example I know:
https://mapicons.mapsmarker.com/
where you can give the icons your own colors
Or Mapbox collection and render scripts:
https://www.mapbox.com/maki/ https://github.com/mapbox/maki
which are in Github, so a missing icon/type can be added via a pull request.
Or am I making this all too much? Maybe I first first have a look what
we actually had after the GSOC project...
Regards,
Richard
